Aroostook County, ME – FT/Days – Permanent Opportunity

Job Description:

Locally-based business in need of experienced Pipefitter/Welder to work on pipe installation, maintenance, and repair projects in Aroostook County. Primarily FT/Days, through hours may vary based on project requirements. $25.00 – $35.00/hr. based on experience.

The Pipefitter/Welder will install and perform maintenance on piping systems for a variety of industrial and commercial properties. Employee will review blueprints, organize and assemble new installations, and perform maintenance and repairs on existing pipe systems and related equipment. Applicants will be required to pass a both a written test and practical skills test to demonstrate both their knowledge and work quality.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect job sites for obstructions and prepare materials and equipment accordingly.
• Study blueprints and properly plan installations.
• Install piping within plumb, level, and square requirements using a variety of tools to modify pipes to specifications.
• Measure and mark pipes for cutting and threading.
• Figure pipe runs, including rolling offsets.
• Assemble and weld pipe components and systems.
• Secure pipes to walls and fixtures with brackets, clamps, and welding equipment.
• Order required materials such as pipes, hangars, brackets, hydraulic cylinders, etc.
• Repair and maintain pipe systems, supports, and related equipment.
• Clear pipe systems of obstructions and test their functionality.
• Comply with all relevant codes and regulatory standards.
• Follow all safety regulations as required by company policy and/or state and federal laws.

 

Job Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Trade school education or apprenticeship in relevant field.
• Ability to pass all required written and practical exams.
• Previous experience with pipe-fitting and/or welding in factory and/or industrial settings strongly preferred.
• Fitness test required.

 

Schedule: Primarily Full-Time/Days; shifts may vary based on project timelines or client needs.
Pay: $25.00 – $35.00/hr. and full benefits.
