Sales Associate
Caribou, ME – FT/Days – Permanent Opportunity

Job Description:

Immediate opening for a full-time Sales Associate to work for a well-established retailer in Caribou. Flexible daytime schedule and a full selection of benefits available! Applicants should have a strong customer service background and working knowledge of common household appliances and fixtures. Full-Time/Days; schedule within 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM Saturday. $16.00 – $17.00/hr. The Sales Associate will research, set up, and maintain product displays and inventory for their department. The employee will help customers make informed decisions regarding which products, materials, and services are best suited to meet their needs, as well as schedule consultations with in-house designers for large-scale remodeling projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet visitors when they enter the store and help them locate available products and merchandise.
  • Explain how available products and services work.
  • Receive incoming shipments of merchandise and display pieces.
  • Transport and set up merchandise and display fixtures throughout the store.
  • Maintain and update displays, ensuring that literature and demonstration models are available and accurate.
  • Research products and materials to ensure a thorough understanding of all available merchandise.
  • Participate in vendor demonstrations to gain knowledge of new and existing product lines.
  • Explore and test new merchandise.
  • Schedule and confirm meetings between customers and design consultants for large scale projects.
  • Support design teams by following up on appointment confirmations, typing up product orders, and overseeing required shipments of materials.
  • Provide excellent customer service during sales transactions.

 

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a sales or retail role.
  • Experience with hardware sales and/or home improvement strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of retail systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to move/lift to 50 lbs. unassisted.

 

Schedule: Full-Time/Days; schedule within 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM Saturday.

Pay: $16.00 – $17.00/hr.; PTO, retirement plan, health, vision, life, AFLAC insurance, and employee discounts available.
